Here are a few of my final fabric ideas, I have narrowed down some of the most interesting and effective techniques to then create much large pieces for final garments and jumper fronts. They're all very weathered and distressed, some with bleaching and others with tie dye, the most popular technique I have used is tuck stitch, cabling and laddering.

Dubied Racking
Here I have began to experiment with the racking technique on the 10gauge dubied machines, I like the wavy pattern created, it links well with my project looking at swirls, cables, waves - beach textures.
I have then tye dyed the fabrics to make them look more interesting and continue with my theme.

Making Hanks
Here i have decided to create some hanks, using the navy blue cotton. After making the hanks, i scattered bleach over to make and interesting pattern on the yarns. The after washed and dryed they we're put onto a machine that wraps the yarns back onto a cone.
This method should work well for my knitwear, as instead of bleaching the fabrics after being knitted, the bleached hanks make it interesting at the start.

New bleaching samples
Due to the bleaching being such a success and a very striking effect, I have continued to bleach some more samples that are possible final fabric ideas. The dip bleached effect has been my favorite so far, however scattering the bleach across the fabric seems to also work well.

Stripes
Here I have started to play around with stripes, using monofilament and my colour pallet to create some simple but futuristic fabrics.

Different hooking up effects
Here are some more experiments with hooking up, this technique can make the sample look very 3D and futuristic, linking well with the waves and curve research. The different colour combinations can also make a huge diference and create a different look.

Fair-isle knitting
Here are a couple of experiments with a fairisle pattern, the wavy/zig zag links in well with the beach patterns and textures. After some testing, I then bleached over the knit to see what weathered look it would give. Unfortunately the purple yarn doesn't take well to bleach and was slightly destroyed, this was still a good experiment and the effect is interesting.
