Fresh market research

Refreshing my design ideas and inspiration I have come across some amazingly influential designs. The textures and weathered/ distressed designs are striking, and link well with my own design practise.

 

Trimmings

Here are some trimmings created on a dubied 7 gauge machine, using the technique full cardigan with 'chevron' effect. I thought the wavy, curves works well for theme and movements I have been researching.

Experimenting

Here I have experimented with a technique using a seven gauge domestic machine with a double bed.
Simply wrapping the yarns over the second bed and then knitting it creates a loose strip of yarn.

Holding Technique

Here I have started to use the holding technique again giving a great fabric that swirls and twists, The knitwear has then been tye dyed to give a vibrant bold outcome.

Chunky cabled knitting

Here I have experimented with a chunky gauge domestic machine to see the effect it can create with cables. Its a simple technique but it can look quite effective and interesting, I think the change in colour gives a more effect outcome.

My bleaching & Tie dying

Here are a few of my designs using the bleach and tie dye technique, I really like the outcomes so far as I feel they give a great distressed effect but also very vibrant and eye catching.
