For my Market research I have looked at a few designers that have created knitwear that is similar and inspiring to my own ideas and collection.
Mark Fast was the first fashion designer I used for inspiration and research, I really liked his simple knitwear with its stament cable design.
The next designer that was inspiring was Clare Tough, her designs are interesting as there are many different samples stitched together creating different textures and shapes.
The final designer researched was Rodarte, I loved the distressed effect the knitwear had with the ladders and uneven stitches.
Started to experiment with knitting fabrics and then washing so the wool felts together, then after the fabric was dry cut the knit to give a more distressed fabric. Also then experimented with knotting the slits together to give a twisted cable type effect.
